General
rule of thumb - if your car blows consistently for 10 seconds
any color of smoke, something in your car is not working right
when at operating temperature.
Consider
the following chart:
| Blue
Smoke - You are burning oil some how. Piston rings
might be worn and numerous other internal problems are
possible! |
| White
Smoke - Generally coolant is being let into the combustion
chamber. This might be the sign's of a blown headgasket.
It could also mean either your block or head are cracked! |
| Black
Smoke - Your cars fuel system is just dumping gas
at an unusually high rate. Might be the sign of a stuck
open injector! |
Either
way, I think if you have taken the time to find this FAQ because
you are seriously concerned about a problem with your car,
you need to go see a professional mechanic before you do more
harm.
