Rod
Millen Intake for GTS - By John Unnever
*Included
parts
1 - Cone filter
1 - Inlet tube (silver)
1 - Sensor support bracket
1 - stainless washer
2 - 6mm bolts/nuts
2 - 4mm countersunk screws
1 - 13 silver silicon 3/8 hose
1 - 70mm silicon hose
2 - #48 hose clamps
1 - 1/8 vacuum cap
2 - black zip ties
Step
1. Remove the (-) negative terminal from the battery
Step
2. Disconnect the Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAFS) plug
Step
3. On the factory air box there are 2 pressure sensors
- one on the upper half of the airbox and one on the lower
half of the airbox. Pull the pressure sensor on the upper
half of the factory air box off
Step
4. Disconnect the 3/8 hose on the upper half of
the factory air box (that is the larger of the 2 hoses)
Step
5. Disconnect the 1/8 hose leading to the intake
plenum (located directly below the throttle cable assembly)
and cap with the 1/8 vacuum cap provided
Step
6. Unclasp the 3 clips that hold the factory air box together
and undo the 10mm Phillips head hose clamp leading to
the upper portion of the airbox
Step
7. Pop off the 3 clips holding on the plastic frame cover
in front of the factory air box (covers chassis, between
headlights)
Step
8. To remove the lower half of the airbox, remove the
fuse box, lower pressure sensor (on lower half of factory
air box), and the blue plug (also on lower portion of
air box)
Step
9. Re-attach the fuse box. The lower pressure sensor will
be re-attached in step 12. The blue plug (vacuum sensor)
will no longer beused, as it is eliminated with the RMM
air intake system
Step
10. Remove the rubber inlet tube leading to the throttle
body
Step
11. Attach the sensor support bracket to the under side
of the bracket that supports the clutch line (using the
6mm hardware). The longest leg of the bracket should be
on top and vertical
Step
12. Attach the lower pressure sensor (removed in step
#8) to the lower leg using the last of the 6mm hardware
Step
13. Attach the upper pressure sensor (removed in step
#2) to the upper leg of the bracket. To attach this pressure
sensor, use the Phillips head screw from the factory clip
bracket and the washer provided
Step
14. Slide the 70mm black silicon hose onto the throttle
body
Step
15. Remove the MAFS from the upper portion of the factory
air box. Relocate the MAFS into the RMM inlet tube using
the 4mm hardware provided (tighten evenly!!)
Step
16. Remove the factory rubber hose from the lower pressure
sensor. Attach the 13 x 3/8 silver silicon hose
provided
Step
17. Install the inlet tube and plug in the Air Flow Meter
Sensor. The sensor is now located next to the throttle
body (check this to make sure the inlet tube is oriented
correctly)
Step
18. Slide on the air filter and attach the silicon hose
to the nipple on the air filter
Step
19. Tighten the hose clamp allowing a gap of approximately
1/2 between the air filter and the radiator fan
shroud
20. Attach the (-) negative battery terminal
