The first thing you should know is that this web site is completely funded through donations from people like yourself, from all around the world. Secondly, you should know that it the site does not retain donations as a profit. Instead, all funds are circulated back in to the web site.

So I guess you would probably like to know where the money goes, and what you get for donating?

Further development of the web site, and implementation of new features. This refers to things like the new gallery section. The software involved in implementing this feature is costly, as is the bandwidth required to run the system. Currently, we are allowing all donating members access to upload images. That said, all members are allowed to view the images.

Site merchandise. Products such as our new window decals must be financed up front, through donations from you guys. Once the revenues from the stickers recoup the costs, we funnel them straight back into the site to finance ongoing activites. Again, we don't keep any extra profits. We would like to bring new products to you as well, such as T shirts, hoodies, and more in the future. To do this, we have to rely on your donations!

Site exclusives, such as the BGB Online section. Many hours have been spent scanning in these books, as well as money spent to obtain others. As long as we continue to receive donations, we will be able to continue to bring you these types of exclusive benefits.

Message board benefits include a special trophy image " ", to signify that you have contributed to the site. It's not much, but we'd like you to know that you deserve recognition for your contribution. We also give you the ability to set a custom user title under your name. These little benefits are not meant to disadvantage non-donators, only provide an additional incentive to donate to the site.

Lastly, overhead and operating costs. This includes site hosting costs and domain registrations. One of the more boring expenses that we face, but the bills are still there. As the site continues to grow, we have to look into purchasing more extensive hosting plans that give us more bandwidth to use up!

We need people that have donated in the past to continue to donate in the future. We aren't asking for much, really only what you can afford. $5 to the site can go a long ways if many people contribute. If you are a second time donator, just remember that your money is going towards a very good cause.
