All of these came with the car:

Passenger Door Sensor (Door light won't turn on)
1 Exhaust Manifold Bolt Snapped (I thought it was loose when I bought the car, but when I tried to tighten the nut, the bolt came out)
Gauge Bezel and Washer Fluid Container vibrate when car is cold
Front tires need to be replaced.
Paint is oxidized (Looks fine if I do a good wax)
    Clutch is mushy and old.
Gas Pedal 'sticks' (Throttle body is probably dirty)
Cup Holder pops open whenever I hit a small bump.
    No Rear Speakers

My interior problems when I got the car (92 Gt Convertible):

    - Manual windows
    - Manual locks
    - Windows didn't make a good seal and hence leaked
    - Door-open switches were non-functioning
    - Passenger seat didn't recline very far
    - Shift boot was ugly bright red
    - Floor mats were ugly rubber black and bright red
    - Seats smelled of cigarette smoke
    - Speedometer stopped at 120 mph and volt-meter was not present
    - No tweeters
    - Back speakers (4" in convertibles) were blown
    - Rear driver-side window wouldn't go down all the way
    - Arm rest wouldn't latch

Since then all of those have been fixed. It now has:
    - Power windows
    - Power locks
    - Power mirrors (LHD power folding and heated)
    - All of the windows have been re-aligned to raise, lower and seat properly
    - Door-open switches work on both sides
    - The arm rest latches
    - The seats have been replaced (and will be replaced again soon with the power options)
    - The shift boot is stock
    - The floor mats are stock
    - The GT-S speedometer has been installed (with mileage set to my current correct mileage)
    - System 10 installed (minus rear tweeters which were never present in the convertible, so I guess you could call it system 8)

    What's still wrong with it?

    - System 10 Cd-player is flaky (so I use the tape player with a CD-to-tape adapter, but the sound isn't as clear or controllable)
    - Rear defrost button is missing. Oh wait, 5th gen convertibles didn't have rear-defrosters. Someone explain to me how the 3rd gen convertibles had them, then the 4th and 5th didn't, then the 6th had them again. ::grumble grumble::
    - Steering wheel could be falling apart or it could be just really nasty 'cause I haven't cleaned it and I often drive after doing work on it, so the grease and oils and other crap get all over it.
    - The LED behind the "defrost + feet" button on the Climate control panel is finicky.

Maybe the convertible seat belt retractor mechanisms are different from the coupe/liftbacks, but I've never had a problem with them.

As for the door-open buttons, I fixed mine by taking them apart, then spraying them down with brake cleaner, srubbing them really well (especially the contact surfaces) and putting them back together. You'll need a tiny flat-head screwdriver to pry it open and pull the components out.

The arm rest latch is just a small black plastic piece attached with two screws. You can pocket one at a junk yard and they won't care.

Aligning the windows is an all-day affair, and is a series of:

close the door, raise the window, make note of position
open the door, lower the window, make adjustments
close the door, raise the window, make note of position
open the door, lower the window, make adjustments

and it's complicated further by the fact that you can adjust the windows on all axes. The convertible is the worst though, as you have 4 windows to adjust plus a moveable top. FUN!

Also, the A/C, heat and temperature knobs that are constantly breaking off, are 5 bucks from Toyota. Not too bad, since you'll be forever trying to find them in a junk yard celica, unless you're the first one to have a go at the car.

Hope any of that is helpful to anyone.

(i.e- remove door panel, adjust manually, etc.)

    My problems were already mentioned

    -Wierd Passenger seatbelt retracting noise
-Drivers side window rattles only when cracked
-rear seat cigarette burn from previous owner

Other than that, it's in pretty good shape.

jesus christ, guys. You people should take better care of your cars..

**sarcasm. I guess at least the drivetrain on these cars are still in decent condition.

Perhaps Toyota needs to work on getting the interior up to par.

battery light comes on spiraticly stays on a while or flashes or does whatever weird crap it wants, never seeming to effect performance or radio output?? (200 amp alternator next)
bolt for header heat cover is broken off inside it.
power steering leaks a bit, not really enough for a drip, just enough to get everything dirty, same with the engine oil, but im running pure synthetic so i consider it pretty well holding still.
sunroof wont move at all... all jacked up. front speakers suck and make noise, almost faded all to the rear lol

Backed into my garage side with my door open. Door does not latch to close. I need to examine better. I may need to post some pics and get advice. It's been a long and stressful day. Rust patched up though...so there's one thing to cross off the not working list.

the blown 4AFE sitting in the engine bay, and the 7AFE sitting in the bed of my truck waiting to replace it with a busted oil pan due to crackmonkey shipping handlers

that, and a dent in every body panel.

    huh, lets see...
passengers seat slide, i've tried connecting it with pliers...looks like i will have to weld or something similar
I painted the interior, then was busted for time and also stupid and used gas to remove the shitty paint and put something else on. Now i have cracked interior pieces.
The drivers side window used to rattle like crazy, i pulled the door panel off and realized that it was a bolt that had pulled through, i used a big ass washer and it has stopped.
    the drivers side light switch
the seat belt has actually gotten me caught coming home late, damn thing is sooo loud. I now pull it out all the way and hold it there before i open the door.
some of the climate/other interior lights will turn on/off randomly.
it looks like i've gone up and down I-5 robbing random clothing stores and fast food restaurants and coffee stands for the past 5 months, the thing looks like a shit hole
    the steering wheel is flaking
i must not have covered everything when i put in the pioneer deck for there is one speaker that wiggs out on hard accelerations.
I don't have ac, nothing to worry about there.
i have replaced the climate contole knob though
need to have the drivers brain replaced, along with fixing the fender/bumper/hood/headlight
that's all i can think of for now

No joke though, i started to list all the stuff i could think of off the top of my head and it froze up on me... so i'm not going to jinx myself like that

    problems...well lets see
Driver side door sensor doesn't work
Seat belts retract slowly and make a weird noise
    power steering rack leaking fluid
    misfiring sometimes...needs new starter
    passenger side view mirror busted
    A/C doesn't blow cold air
no cup holder (don't really care though)
    needs alignment
and the best one of all...RUST! mostly around the fenders

    - engine noise vibration
    - sunroof switch (broke by the toyota supvr mech off toyota that my sister went to regarding sunroof leaking and after he mess the switch he claimed that sunroof is not factory installed and sunroof still leak) By the way sunroof is in the owners manual. Should be fired. I fixed leak (except for rear right drain can't be reached) like what toyota parts person by my place told me its just dirt clogging the drain.
    - cracked paint front right fender, scrape on right side mirror, minor scrape on body right side, big scrape rear right bumper corner done by one of those assistant of this toyota supervisor mech in his shop. Someone took it for a ride probably doesn't know how to drive manual or doesn't know how to drive at all. Didn't notice because it was winter time and car is full of salt stain.
    - rattling sound coming from: driver and passenger door, rattling sound on dash sounds like loose screw
    - some rattle on both fenders some broken bar when I checked.
    - passenger headlight shakes
    - broken radio antenna makes those crazy sound I think needs new motor
    - steering wheel cover scrapes, peeling
    - power windows driver side switch have to push hard to put up window
    - sort of busted front speakers
    - Rubber seal passenger door partly comes off top corner.
    - back cover hinge broken
    - passenger door light doesn't turn on (not bulb related)
    - noisy exhaust pipe (big hole)
    - two AC buttons is malfunctioning (high button and defogger with foot)
    - broken visor loose screw
    - moisture inside brake lamp/tail light
    - failed emission high NOx
    - ABS light comes on at times when I start to release clutch from 1st gear. Weird thing is only happens from when engine is first started (from off) never from when I stop at a light and gear to 1st and release clutch.
    - ripped suspension rubber boot/bellow, nneds new suspensions, too

I just have to add my bits in here...

    - front tweeters and covers are gone
    - back tweeters are not hooked up and missing the covers
    - cup holder wouldn't stay shut, removed the spring
    - shifter surround is cracked
    - stereo/shifter console is badly scratched
    - door subs were blown and are now fixed with little 6" speakers
    - stereo works only when it wants to
    - steering wheel is shredded
    - drivers seat has a hole where most expected...
    - temp control dial doesnt work
    - drivers seat belt is shredded
    - passenger seat doesn't slide forwards anymore
    - carpet has a hole where the heel of my shoe sits on the gas pedal
    - door sensor for the drivers side is stuck
    - rattling in the dash somewhere
    - exhaust leak
    - power steering leak
    - fuel leak
    - fog light lens is cracked, gonna get new ones and some 6000k bulbs
    - and my ebrake cable is toast!!! gone... rusted away.. :thumbsdow

Not bad for buying it just 2 weeks ago, slowly I'm going to clean it all up. It's just a bitch to find these parts where I live, there aren't any junk yards with celi's at all! So I'm going to need my parts from some of you and ebay.
