    Default Pneumatic tools

    Whats your preferred make/style?

I'm using a Kobalt set right now. 1/2" impact wrench, 3/8" ratchet, and a few other goodies that came in the set.

I need to pick up a 3/8" impact wrench (as sometimes this 1/2" is a beast to get into smaller spaces). I'm thinking of finding something around 500ft/lbs of torque at 90PSI. I have a feeling though that'll set me back close to $200bux.

I have a set that I bought from harbor freight in the mid '80s that still work well - 1/2" driver, 3/8" ratchet, two die grinders, and two air hammers with ball joint and tie rod forks.

Air tools are super simple and if you keep them dry and well oiled even the cheap ones should last the home repairman a very long time.

The 3/8" ratchet is really handy - as are the two sets of ball-swivel impact sockets I have - except all my old impact sockets are SAE and not metric.

Central Pneunatic is mostly what I have. I have the big ass 3/4'' Earthquake Impact Wrench that delivers 1400ft.lbs. Picked it up for $15 new at Dirt Cheap one day. Along with the other impact tools I found while plundering through the shelves.

I almost bought their 1/2" earthquake yesterday but opted for a set of metric wrenches (damned if I know where all my 14+mm wrenches are..).

Yea - My Harbor Freight tools are all the Central Pneumatic "brand".

Min are all "made in Japan" due to the time I bought them.
