Thread: starting isuue

    Default starting isuue

After having the car in the garage for months without an engine, I replaced it again and having a starting issue. The starter won't crank! Well at first, I thought it was the battery, so I exchanged it with a good one and no luck. When I turn the key, you can hear the fuel pump working and the click inside the starter but motor in starter doesnt crank. So I took it to get tested and it works. So now I'm clueless. When I have starter hooked up you can hear a click but no turn and it's a working starter so where do I go from here? Thanks

Bench testing is worthless. Replace the contacts in the starter, they're probably bad.

Cool got it to start. Sounding great. Now let me ask, what is the proper way to break in a rebuilt engine with new clutch and flywheel? I'm so happy this nightmare is over and I can drive my Celica once again after 2 years.
