RX7 AFM

There seems to be some mystery surrounding the RX7 AFM.* This AFM has been used as a cheap replacement for the stock 3SGTE AFM (US market).* We will cover here the differences, and lay to rest (hopefully) any mystery regarding this AFM.

SPECS:

87-88 MAZDA RX7 (NON TURBO) Mass Air Sensor
NipponDenso Part #17100-3250

PERFORMANCE:

This AFM is roughly close to the stock AFM.* While some have claimed a better feel, no performance figures have been produced.

GAINS:

No gains have been reported, other than "it feels nice".* In an otherwise stock car, top end would be improved slightly.*

INSTALLATION:

The AFM is virtually identical to the original on the outside.* Your stock air box or aftermarket intake should bolt on.

TUNING:

The response may be different on the RX7 afm.* We will show later how to adjust this.

TESTS:

Here are the spec outputs from the MAZDA AFM vs the TOYOTA AFM.* You can see that they are virtually identical.* We will report more as we find it.
