    Default Valve stem seal color?

Ok I don't know why I cannot find which color goes where. The seals I have are grey and a redish brown that was in a bag with red tape sealing it. Any help would be great so I can please the wife and get the head out of our fifth wheel trailer.

    Um... grey centers are intake.

    and they're usually brown.

    Exhaust is usually all black.

So from what you said my brown is intake and what I call grey (dark grey the wife said) would be exhaust. In the way they look the browns look to have more sealing pressure on the valve then the greys.

    grey centers/brown seal = intake...
all black (or dark grey or whatever you'd like to call it) is exhaust.

Just checked the engine repair manual from Toyota an it says: Brown = Intake and Green/Black = Exhaust, asuming it is a 3s or a 4a engine we are talking about?
but if the seals you got is not genuine/ originale parts then the colors may be different.
