    Default Just Curious!!!

    Hey....I need this question answer....You see I recently bought a 2003 model Celica and I wondering is it possible to turbo the engine of this car or would it be a waste of time....?? all opinions appreciated thanks!!!

    anything can be turbo'd.. but depends on how much power you want...

    if its the 2zzge it's not the most straight forward of gigs. The compression is too high for a starter. That might be easily(ish) gotten around by taking off the head and putting in a spacer plate (cut out of the head pattern to give you some space between the head and te block thereby lowering compression) -- I only just pulled that out of my arse then. Or you probably have to get different pistons or con rods. That 2zzge pushes out around 140kw so you should be able to add a few bolt ons and have some fun NA. The 1zzge has been tub'd a bit look around in the force induction or 6th/7th gen subforums.

    There are turbo kits for both the GT and the GT-S.

    My input, is that if it's a GT, then turbo it. If it's a GT-S, then i'd say supercharge that thing.

    Thanks guys for the replies so far....please keep them coming any help would be helpful...well I'm a turbo man um.....I live in australia I'm not sure is there anywhere in brisbane where I could get someone to fit one on..??
