i just finished putting together my 5sgte but there no spark. nothing even to the distributor cap. i tried to rewire it back using the old ignition coil and just holding a wire from that to the 3s distributor cap and still nothing. my friedns dad said i could have blown a fuse but im looking on mitchell on demand and it shows no fuses for distributor or ignition. anyone have any ideas what it could be. im using the 5sfe ecu with a modified wiring harness.

What year is the ecu, and the wiring harness, and the dist?
There are differences between the years on these. On the Celicas the cuttoff is 91/92.
Not sure what year it is on the Camrys. But if you have stuff from both sides of the cutoff, it will not work.

Heh, wait.
You're using a 3SGTE head, correct?
With a 5S ecu? If the ecu is set up for a coil in dist ignition, it won't work.
The 3SGTE has a separate coil.

I didnt think you could run a 5SGTE with a 5S ECU. I thought you had to use a 3S ecu cause of the cam angle sensors and other things.

The older ones [I think] are similar. I mean 90/91. Before it has the internal coil.
