Nice :bigthumbu

My tints getting slightly purple :ugh: . Was it a pain to take off the old tint? And did you damage any defroster lines?

08-06-2005, 08:52 AM
I took some of it off, what a pain.

I finally said fuck it and paid some people to do it, ah well, lifetime nation wide warranty :)

Just search google for tint removal on how to remove tint, lots of tips from tintdude.com!!

it's a pain in the fucking balls to remove that shit. I did it on a 740iL last month and it took me a couple hours to get the glue off completely.

Looks much better sean, I love it :)

08-06-2005, 02:15 PM
how much did this cost?

08-06-2005, 02:24 PM
It just take time and patience to get it off... When i had my car tinted....... i removed all of the tint and glue... I tinted the front windows and side windows.. and had a guy do the back for me.. I didnt have a big enough piece to cover it...

P.S. I always do my own windows.. it cost like 35 dollars... VS.. paying 75 for some one to do it... and even more if you didnt remove the old.... I was told it was 50 more for them to remove... So in the end it cost me $60 Total VS $125...
$35 Tint, Tint-OFF removal kit
$25 For the guy to do the back

Sean, I love your car. So clean, everything flows, and has "go" to back it up. Great JOB

P.S. Sean's car is a perfect example of how window tint can make or break a car!

What % did you use on each of the windows? And can you post some pics from up close outside and inside? I wanna get a general feel for how dark it stays inside and how effective it is at keeping people from looking in.

Car looks great man, what percent is the tinting?

08-11-2005, 10:29 PM
Sean yours and Celica GT4's are my fav two cars on this board. Keep up the awsome work. When ever you would like to sell your rims, give me a pm.

Also I have been contamplaiting on removing tint all together, but I am now in love (even more then I was before) with your car, so I might just get better tint.

08-11-2005, 10:30 PM
p.s. thats not a stock colour is it?

08-11-2005, 10:41 PM
Factory Blue :)

Glass inheritenly blocks a percent of sunlight, glass itself usually reduces light transmission by around 5 percent. The washington limit is around 25% which include both the tint, and the glass itself.

So, the tint is 30%.

I wouldnt use tint if i didnt have too, but im trying to hide the stereo in the back.

Do NOT USE AMMONIA-BASED GLASS CLEANER! It will turn window tint purple.
