I'd say no to the needing a new fuel filter.. those are pretty reliable for the celica appartently. Sparks? How many miles, what type of driving, typical conditions, type of gas, etc.. Since it is an automagic, maybe the automagic fluid needs to be replaced?

Spark plugs, air filter, change oil, MAF sensor cleaning, GUNK fuel injector cleaner...

no need for fuel filter, HELL NO!

How does this cat go about changing the MAFS? I would like to think that just spraying dichloroethelyne would do the trick.. but, that gunk eats plastic. Hell.. I think this is definetly a Good Thing to do.

dont have to change it. just get some rubbing alchohol and put it on a q-tip and gently clean the mafs.

Have you added any fuel injector cleaner? If so, that may be a Good Thing.
