Just wondering if anyone here has done a true hid conversion? I have projector lens headlamps but I'm affraid of blinding oncoming traffic :D
If so, care to share any pics?

To do it the proper way you'd need to get projectors off a stock car with HIDs and retrofit them into your headlight housing. Otherwise if you get one of those cheap kits light will probably be scattering everywhere.

Projector lamps aren't necessarily HID, but you have to get projectors meant for HID to do this right.

Halogen projectors use a halogen bulb with a filament, while HID use arc discharges between two electrods -- no filament. If you try to mate a projector lens from one system with the light source (bulb et al) from the other, the geometry will be off and you won't get light going where it's supposed to.

If you're doing the conversion, make sure, as Slider said, to get the whole thing from wiring through to the projector from the same source.

best way would be using stock projectors from other cars, theres tons of ebay (like from audi's, BMWs, VWs etc)...

your talkin about 500$ without the custom mounting
