The best shit.. hands down.

I picked it up at Autozone.. Made by Pennzoil..

Basically looks like automatic tranny fluid in color.. I'd imagine the same weight as well..

I put 2qt's in and the rest which was like 3/4 of a quart was a heavy weight Lucas gear lube.. like 140w or something..

Anyway before I couldn't downshift into 2nd gear at anything higher than 20mph..

After driving this for 2 days now.. I just downshifted into second gear at 45mph NO PROBLEM!!!!

Cool, I've heard nothing but good things about Synchromesh!

Synchromesh isn't that thin. I found some material data sheets before (on celica.net) when this was a hot debate. It's the same weight as Redline MTL or MT90 (don't remember). If there's any difference between Redline and Synchromesh, it's mostly in the additives.

General MTL/MT90 info:

Viscosity info (lightweight is the MTL and 75W90 is the MT90):

You will see that they have pretty similar viscosities, but the Redline has a higher flash point (really shouldn't be an issue in a manual transmission, however).

It's hella thinner than the heavy weight lucas which took about 2 (joking) to pour in LOL.. Ah well it's excellent shit.. Cost the same as any synthetic fluid.. Think I paid somethin around 6 dollars per quart.. actually that's way cheap compared to the 10 per quart I paid for synthetic!

I got synchromesh on mine too. Good stuff. I also recommended it to some of my friends and they liked it as well. Costed me about $5 a quart.

Its hard to beleive just a different oil can make such a difference on synchros...it completely cured my grinding...and 65 000 KMs later they are still working !!!

that oil is the shiznit !

I know.. blows my mind.. It doesn't work instantly either.. after I drained and re-filled and went for a drive it was still shit.. and I was like.. eh.. bleh..

Ya gotta give it a day or 2 for the oil to get all over the syncro's and gears and stuff.
