What's up guys. just wondering if you've heard of this electric water pump that's suppose to "free" up up to 15 hp. I would think its a big scam, but its from a respectible company. So tell me what you think.

drag racers use it all the time(and i think nascar) because at higher rpms, the resistance of the impeller against the coolant takes more power to turn,so yes it can gain hp,think about it!

I dont think that you need it though..but they are intersting ideas..Just like when i heard that they had hydraulic lifters in f1 cars..

It can free up horsepower, but the point lies in the fact that factory water pumps can cavitate the water at the upper rev range where engine spend a lot of time on the race track. So no, it's not a scam, but unless you have a dedicated race car, it's not worth the effort.

we had a drag car in highschool with an electric pump, they would turn it off when they would run down the track to free up 2hp :P. the engine hooped after 2 days
