View Full Version : Squeaking

Everytime I would brake my brakes would squeak, or so I thought. So I then change my brake pads and noticed that my pads weren't really worn at all. The squeaking noise still continues even with the new pads. What else could it be, my rotors?

Check your rear brakes, check to see if the shims on your front brakes are in place, and if necessary use a brake quiet adhesive to attach the shims properly.

I have already done that. The squeaking is going to drive me insane.

The rotors could need to be turned. When you brake, do you feel any "pulsing" feeling at the pedal?

I checked my rotors and they don't seem warped, maybe I should buy new rotors or get them shaved.

Checked as in looked at them or checked as in used a micrometre?

I looked at them and got a second opinion on it they seem fine, maybe I should just buy new rotors.

Our eyes can't really detect the tolerances a rotor must meet. You never did answer the question: any pulsing while braking?

Alternately, have you checked the condition of your rear brakes?
