I installed my components and one amp into my truck yesterday.

well there was NO way to hook up my power wire off the batt or the aux power hook up. due to the pegs being bigger then my fosgate platnium connector

now the only post that was big enuf for power, was the alternators output post. is that dangerous or bad to hook power up to that?

yes. For one the voltage coming out of your alternator is somewhat unstable (the battery works as a stabilizer). So it'll jump up and down slightly. In addition, the alternator puts out 13.8-14.4V in order to run your accesories and everything requiring battery voltage, but more importantly, to charge your battery. Since you've installed this wire right at the altnernator output, you risk being incapable of charging your battery sufficiently, as you can be sucking up extra juice from the alternator before it even gets to the battery.
