xrissxross,

I would like you to remember this, and remember it well.

Horsepower costs money.

sounds like all it does is change the temp signal, telling the ecu its got colder air coming in. Dont see how it would add 20 hp tho. sounds a bit exadgerated.

It's a .50 cent resistor you can buy at radio shack. I have heard numerous claims of what it does exactly but there was a very long thread with good information about the theory on Celica. Net if anyone has the sights they should post them its good info on how your ECU works. but pretty much it just tricks the ECU into thinking that the air coming in is colder than it really is, some of them people say have tricked the car into thinking its towing a heavier weight so it ups your a/f ratios like you can do to some 4wd trucks with piggyback units I donít know how much of that I believe just stating what people have said people like to bullshit a lot. Save your money and buy a soda or something.

Won't do crap for the 5sfe. If you want cheap mods do stuff like advance your timing, home made intake, weight reduction.

obiviously i knew this thing is a bunch of bullshit just wanted to know ppls thought about it or if it really did add hps, maybe atleast 1 hp...........

bingo.

More resistance = lower temp signal.

The ECU will thereby advance timing and run less rich = more power.

Safe? Umm....NO! The air temp correction is there for a reason!

The 5s-fe runs rich like a mofo I heard when you smash it at WOT, that would make it even worse

Air flow is what the engine needs

Nope. And even if it did, you wouldn't notice any difference.
