View Full Version : Horn and flashers don't work.

I need some help on fixing my problem. I will lay out what I did already.

Turn signals don't work when the flasher button is pushed in.
Ohm checked fuse in kick board and engine compartment.
Got 11.9 Volt at the engine compartment horn fuse.

Get 9.96 V at the 12V white wire at horn relay
Put jumper across white and green/red wire and no horns
Put jumper from battery to green/red and you have horns
Measure 1.6V at white wire when hazard switch is on????

How much voltage do you need to power the horns? I figured that the 9.96 would do it but it doesn't. Any chance that the blade fuses are cracked and still read good on Ohm but won't flow current?

Am I missing something?

I knew that all services on the car must be 12V or something like that

Maybe you have some wire that goes to ground, check all the cables runs and the grounds

I'm not positive but I'd think that if a fuse was just barely connected the thin connection would fry as soon as current went through it.

May be the fuse or flasher relay is the issue.

What was it in the end? A friend of mine has this problem exactly, and he doesn't know what to do either.
