I have a 97 gt celica and I've been wanting to do all motor and high compression but I wanna make at least 250-300hp. But everyone tells me I'm better off just to turbo the 5sfe. Is it possible to make around that power on high compression no problem?

It won't happen.

There have been several members who have built all motor 5SFEs and none of them have broken 160HP. If you are looking at 250 to 300 HP you are asking for more than a 100% increase in power. Which will never happen without a power adder such as boost or N2O.

If you want that power output with minimal effort, you want a 3SGTE or a a 5SFTE. If you want those numbers on all motor, you are looking at a later model V6 swap, of which I can only think of one running in a Celica in the US.

You gotta be able to break 160ho all motor! It comes with 135hp for god sakes lol

Hmmm... To make it a 5sfte wont I need a down pipe and turbo and head and rods from a 3sgte?

You put a turbo on a 5SFE. There are a lot of little things, but you don't really touch the internals.

Exhaust manifold, turbo, down pipe, injectors, fuel management, FMIC, 2 bar map sensor fastest easy way to powering up the 5S-FE. There is a detailed build thread over on 6gc by presure2 (spelling?) On his monster 5S-FTE builds that pushed 300 WHP with water/meth injection.

There was a local guy here many years back who had a turboe'd 4AFE. Cheap ebay turbo and the rest of the requisite stuff. If you just want something quick and fun, I would do something like what MetDeth said and just run it till it pops then dump in a new one. 4A and 5S are cheap and plentiful.
Pretty much do it like you would for a small turbo'ed Honda.

I wonder if e85 may help you get there? Could run considerably higher compression with it...still would not be easy, and you might have to go with a GE variant head...if so, perhaps a Beams VVTi head would help a bit.
