above is a link to the Alltrac I have had my eyes on for a few days. (im s.beckwith85 over there, stupid FB login)

"The bad: CEL as mentioned above, ebrake not functional, fuel gauge only works when full, otherwise shows empty, needs new exhaust hangers, there is an intermittent issue that started before I stopped driving the car. Right now the car drives and sounds like a cylinder is down. Was told it's an issue with one of the injectors. The place I took it to put some injector cleaner in, I drove it around for a bit, and the problem went away for about 2 weeks. Then it came back, so I put injector cleaner in again, and it went away for about a week, and came back again."

these are the main issues. Im looking for help. Do you in your honest opinion think 1. the car is worth it? 2. would be able to be driven as it sits with an injector clean 1800 miles?

ive read that the CEL code is most likely the pigtail has gone bad, but those are beyond rare to find.

any info and wisdom is greatly appreciated!

I would trailer it, not drive it.

This will surely end in disaster. I would not risk an 1800 mile journey with an unknown car.

i cant afford to borrow my old mans truck and trailer, drive there, buy it, and drive back. but how can i let an Alltrac for that price just slip away from me...?
i need to figure out if i can do a quick fix that will get it here...

In with 4rhgenceli trailer it. 1800 miles in a car with that many problems will leave you stranded somewhere

that one is currently half torn apart and needs a shit ton of work... its sitting at some shop waiting to be finished or sent out as is.

Yup, but it's a good price and you already know what's wrong with it. The other one is a total wildcard

true as that is, im on a limited amount of funds at the current time. speaking with hard cash, the MN one is affordable. TX is not. TX wants more for a torn apart car, and MN wants less for a working car with a couple minor issues. Even if the issues are worse, i can always park the car and have it to work on for later.

I would look at getting it shipped.

i may look into shipping. but that far is going to be upwards of a $1000 that i dont have...

The one in Texas, while not finished, is on the up and up. Even with having to be finished it's well worth the $4000. I know Paul and he's put a lot of work into the car. If it were me, I'd buy his if it's still for sale hands down.

As for the one in the post, I'm like the rest of the guys. I wouldn't try an 1800 mile trip in that car. From what sounds like, it's going to need at least one, maybe more injectors and possibly a complete fuel system flush. I would also want to know if CEL is on because of a short in the pigtail or if there are codes lurking in there. The guy's put a ton of parts on the car so it's probably worth the money. I just don't think that I would want to try to drive it that far with what he's said is wrong with it. More than likely there's more lurking in there as well.

Just one more thing, if you're going to have to park the car once it gets to you, the TX car would be a much better choice. If I had the cash, I would have already bought that one.

Good luck in what ever you do. Good to have you back.

Texas car? The one sitting over at ATS? Hell pay the dude for the car, then make payments to ATS to finish it for you and then fly out to take it home.

Mr.Shaun91

i thought about that. the monthly payments for storage alone would be insane... plus paying to finish the work? ouch on my wallet.

How much does ATS want to finish the car? I can't recall, I remember a thread on it somewhere, wasn't it like $2k? They have been holding the car for how long? A year? Call and ask them if they will take $150 a month until it is finished. Just a thought.

I found where they want $3500 to finish. I guess that it would be more prudent to offer $200 a month?

^^ Pretty much what I was thinking. Either way, nothing a couple phone calls can't figure out.

Buy Princess. Drive home. Done. That was easy!

Question is can you afford to break down on the way home?

The car in Texass is already sold, or it says so in the thread.
I definitely wouldn't try driving it 1800 miles. What are you going to do if it breaks down at mile 500? Get it towed?

The no one updated the thread here. Eff AT.net. They don't like me over there, I drive a rattletrap FWD Celica.

Then maybe you should wait until you CAN afford a fun car?

At that price I'm scared to let it to. I just for my taxes and am ready to buy. But maybe you're right. Maybe I should wait and find the perfect one that's calls out to me. Not just the price.

Good call. If your on a limited budget, its best not to buy unknown cars across the country and drive them back.

I've been waiting about six years for it to be a good choice to actually buy one. At this point, I'm most likely just going to wait until the 94-99 GT4 can be easily imported just to have something different.

I've been wanting one just as long. Sometimes it looks as though I'll never have one.

And Captain, I haven't asked but why are you selling princess to begin with? I don't think I could even handle the responsibility of being her owner...

Ding ding ding. We all know Alltrac's don't like being maintained on a tight budget. In the long run you're better off saving up more and buying on that's already had the mystery kinks worked out.

He isn't actively selling it and no, you could in no way handle the responsibility. But for $35k you could try. ;)

I would never dream of trying. To scary... even if I was her owner, I would still call The Captain for approval before putting the key.in her each day. Lol
