Sorry this is a repost. I think posted this message on the wrong forum today.

How do i know if I got a correct distributor housing for my (2/90 assembly date) celica gts. Look identical from others. I bought this claimed to be orig toyota with box (old stock) but when I got it no toyota sticker and and number on housing. can I go by resistance using the plug ( 4 metal wire) on the side?

Is there a step by step guide how to install it without using a timing light? I don't have a timing light. Thanks.

Well, without a timing light, you will not be able to get it right on.

If the old one is still installed, you can mark the position before you uninstall it and hope for the best, but that is making the assumption that it was in time to start with.

I could be way off base here, but as far as I know, besides minor variations, any of the 90-93 2.2l 5SFE distributors should work for you.

You should check with your local auto parts stores, they usually rent tools like that.

90 was external coil, 91 can be either, 92/93 were all internal.

See, and now I can say I learned something today.

thanks for the replies. I have external coil. so is the part I bought. if I had it installed, how much does it cost to install with timing adjust? Is it going to be expensive like one hour labor charge?
