My father inlaw wants a backup camera installed on his truck. It's more to be used for his 5th wheel camper (so it'll need to be wireless). Is there anything strange I need to be wary of?

It's a Jensen receiver. Has all the bells and whistles. Bluetooth, GPS nav, etc. There's a single video input that's labeled 'Camera'. I'm going to stick the camera into this.

You are going to need a LONG cable for that to reach the back of a trailer.
Not sure on functionality of wireless units. You will have to research tat and check reviews etc.

Mirrors?

Extended mirrors is indeed what most people get. Also because they are more useful.

Pfffffft. Mirrors. We don't need no stinking mirrors. This is the future, the 21st century.

His truck has the power extending mirrors when towing. He wants it just for when he's parking it (or backing it into spaces, storage, etc). His wife isn't the best at judging distance and he'd like one so he can see how far he is from the wall, the gas meter, the cliff, etc.

They make towing package cameras that are wired or wireless. I have no experience with them though. I am sure Amazon would get you started.

I am a professional, and I use my mirrors, but the difference is I intend to 'bump' stuff with my trailer.

I'm with you Murg.

I use a little piece of rubber on my trailers & the hitch on the truck to park. I'll tap the wall whenever I park. Bump stops...
