I really hate it when jobs are done half-assed, since they always make my life harder.I took the stupid wing of of my alltrac last night and started looking to see what I was going to need to do to get the stock wing that I got from a salvage yard on. This is what I found

It looks like someone did a fairly poor job of welding up the stock holes. There is rust in all of the shoddily drilled new holes, and there is rust forming on the welds, oh and I found half of a rusted razor blade behind the plastic trim piece. The weather strip is damaged, and the wiring has bee spliced into.

I can deal with the wiring, but I don't weld so I can't fix those holes, and the rust is concerning to me.

I'm leaning towards just going down to pick'n'pull and getting a different one that is rust free and unmolested and trying to sell this one. Thoughts?

Yuck. I would lean towards the unmolested replacement hatch, myself... especially if you're figuring to repaint the car anyway (which I assumed due to all the molesting and bodykit travesty)

I'd get the unmolested hatch and stuff from pick'n'pull, maybe hold onto the old one until you're done the car just in case but I wouldn't put much effort into a bastardized old hatch that could have hidden rust issues waiting to rear up later on.
