View Full Version : Is this an engine mount problem?

Recently I've notice a lot of vibration and shaking on the steering wheel when the RPM is around 3000 esp when in 2 and 3 rd gear. I took the car to a mechanic and test drive the car. I was told it's the engine mount. They showed me the engine has a lot of movement (more on backwards and didn't notice sideway movement) and also the engine is not align straight. they recommended to change all 4 mounts. I told them that the 2 side mount was done 3 years ago and is about 19300 mi ran. The front and rear was done 4-5 years ago and about 23000 mi ran. I was thinking it might the rear mount since i have a bad oil leak from the distributor and might have lost a bolt or rubber mount is worn. i was thinking of letting them replace the rear and just replace the 2 side and the front mount myself. Thanks in advance. Pics below

If you're doing the front mount you may as well do the rear. If you want to save a few bucks I'd get Kirkasaurus' poly inserts for the front/rear mounts and go from there.
