Issue:
When I hit a pot hole or any imperfection in the road I hear a hollow knocking sound like something is loose from the front passengers side. Almost as if the strut was blown...

First thing to check was for blown coilovers. I set them on full soft and they seem fine, ride is very smooth nothing seems wrong there. While I was down there I did notice that there was a ton of grease everywhere and after a little inspection I noticed my CV boot was broken.

My question is that when I turn I don't hear clunking like you would expect with a broken CV. Can my symptoms be caused by this?

I ask because Im ordering a new CV shaft and want to order anything else that might be bad and take care of it all....

Passenger side sway bar mount.

It has rusted loose.

This is a common problem as these cars get older.

Humm, This could definitely be it. I haven't seen any rust before tho... Ill have to check it tomorrow. Ill be replacing the cv axel this tomorrow hopefully.

Since this is a common problem how do most people fix it?

Remove the swaybar.
