Can some one put up the thread about the starter mod. The one where you use a fuse and run wire from the positive side of the battery?

I just can not figure out how to get it to pull up in the Archives.

Purpose of this mod? That's a great diagram Timmy! Impressed

The purpose for this mod is to by pass all of the old wiring that brakes down over time and connects a direct line to the starter for a full 12 v. power input so starter will operate correctly. I did this on my old 88 GT-S and never had an issue of starting my car again. It was so long ago that with my old mind I completely forgot how to do it. Oh by the way I also done it on my 87 FX16 corolla and it has never given me any problem starting since. Both cars that I did this too, the starter turned over quite a lot stronger and car starts right up.
There is a thread on hear about it but I can't seem to find it, but thanks to 4thgenceli I wont need to.

Thanks 4thgenceli Jack

You can hook the # 86 side directly to the ignition side of the starter for a better connection instead of connecting to the ignition wire it self. That would eliminate another wire connection and by pass more old wire.

Can't take all the credit. I have that saved lol.

Its meant to help out with the high reaistance in 20year old wiring. Using the oem starter signal wire as the trigger it helps with the hot start issues common in the 4th gen (and other generations) celicas.

I had two of these on Jasmine. One for the starter the other for the second cooling fan.

Hey Tim, what is the box called that has all the # in it and where can I resource it from?

That is a relay.

I am pretty sure that I got the one I use on my 4th gen from Autozone.

Remember, this is a crutch though. I can get my 4th gen to crank every time now. Unfortunately is there is any heat left in the system at all, it will cause too much resistance to build up and even though the started will crank, there will be no spark.

Yeah its just a 30a SPDT relay. $5 relay at any auto store providing the dumbshits know what you're asking for.

Thanks Eli and Tim

Hey Eli do you still have that white GT-S? If so, would you sale me the driver side front seat? I need a front seat so I can take mine out to be reupholstered and use the old one for a temporary one?

Fuuny, I cleaned up that old diagram years ago and reposted it. Can't recall who did it originally, but good to see it's still helping ppl out :)
