Car: 2003 Dodge Neon

I just replaced the lower control arms on the car since it was cheaper then replacing ball joints and bushings. During this process I noticed both ball joints have grease fittings. I have never done ball joints(or much suspension). Would it be safe to assume I need to grease them before putting the car back on the road?

It wouldn't hurt to grease them.

K. Is it possible to over grease them? Or just pump till starts seeping through the boot?

Yeah, if its seeping through the boot then stop and wipe it off. The excess grease will pick up dirt and mess the joint up. Just fill it until it feels almost full.

Usually zerk fittings will let you know when theyre full. Picking up dirt on the outside of the joint isnt going to hurt anything.

The grease doesnt serve any function other than keeping water out. Ball joints usually ride on delrin which is self lubricating. The grease just makes sure water cant get in there and corrode shit.
