View Full Version : Engine surging after the first start of the day.

Having an odd issue. I completed my swap about 12,000 miles ago, and suddenly my engine is surging at idle after the first start up of the day. It will rev like it has a vacuum leak between 400-800 rpms at a rhythmic rate. It doesn't do it during the first start up or at all while driving it until I park the car and come back out awhile later.

Sorry if that doesn't make sense. So far I've checked three times for vacuum leaks, checked my O2 sensors as instructed in the BGB, verified my IACV is clean, checked my MAP sensor.

Any other ideas? Love you ladies :lol:

Is that little filter between the manifold and the MAP clear?

Not sure what filter you're talking about. Where exactly is it? Thanks cap'n.

There is a screw-in filter on the intake manifold that provides a nipple for the vacuum line to the MAP sensor. About an inch in diameter...

It's clear. I may have found the problem, I think the manifold is cracked where it meets the bolt. Here's a picture:
