I'm trying to find a v6 that would fit in my 90 celica any ideas?

There have been a few people put the 1mz-fe in. Thats the camry v6 basically. Look up toyota MZ engine on wikipedia for more info.

Like CollapsedNut said, the MZ engines have been done in a 6th gen (they are very similar to a 5th gen like you're 90). The other option that has been done would be a 3VZ (someone did one of these here on celicatech), this motor came out of v6 camarys before the MZ motors replaced it. If you're looking to be adventurous i haven't seen any discussions of the 2GR-FE or 2GR-FSE yet, but they are much newer and produce much more power than the other two options.

The advantage of the 3VZ is that it will take boost stock. I think I've seen as high as 15psi on stock internals. The advantage of the MZ motors is that they are lighter (actually not that much heavier than the 3S-GTE)

One of the first 1MZFE transplants was done on a fifth-gen, by forum member Adrian Avgerinos (SP?). Unfortunately, it seems as if he never got around to writing the how-to, though his picture album is still up http://smg.photobucket.com/user/sbcelicagt/library/Celica%20V6?sort=4&page=1

Oh, I was under the impression that he'd done a 3VZ-FE, but you're right.

You're probably thinking of Fibrewizard.

MR2 guys have done it and there are some Celica guys who have done it as well. I've driven both a 3VZ SW20 and 2GR SW20, the latter was balls fast. check out forums.twobrutal.com

Cant seem to get that guy to joint the 5th gen group on Facebook lol

I'm aiming to do the same, plop a 1mz into my celica. Only real part I'm lacking is time and a donor car.

Sorry for not joining! I'm still a bit of a newbie when it comes to using Facebook. Is the group name, "5th Gen Celicas"?

Now that is a name from the past.

Glad you are still alive.

Haha. I suppose I have been rather removed from this message board the last five years or so. I'm nearing the end of a major mechanical restoration project on the car and will post some picts/info soon. Long story short, about two years ago the steering rack barfed fluid all over the garage floor and its been sitting since.
