This is my other car,my everyday car!
Its an 1981 Starlet KP62 3K-H engine 1.2cc 5speed!
Never been restored and still has the original paint!

Didn't change too much, replaced the old steering wheel for the OEM celica steering wheel,TE71 Corolla wheels and Victory fender mirrors!

Some pics:

When I bought it

And now

Nice little Starlet. Hey Murg, didn't Conrad have one of those that was pretty heavily modified?
And yes, the front license plate is awesome. :)

That's a very nice ride!

I bet it is a blast to drive, and I'm glad to see you had it on a track!

Lonestag yes its a really cool car to drive, its very light and agile, too bad it has so little power,I can imagine this with a very good suspension and brakes plus a 4age 16v engine :D

I never lost a chance to put my cars on track, both starlet and the celica, and I wish I could ride my bike on the track too,but thats not enough funds for everything xD

Starlets with under 100hp are pure momentum cars, just maintaining it and not scrubbing speed and then paying for it with terrible exit speeds and losing a ton of time down a long heavy accelerating section. I still have my race prepped Starlet along with the donor car, it's a project car that I will always have and will eventually get back to racing in the future. I've just been too busy building parts for other people, but I enjoy what I do so I can't complain!

I'm not a purist, if I ever came across a wrecked S2K for a good price I'd snap it up and swap the engine in a heartbeat. It's the perfect engine to go in a KP.

Here are some old pics.

Nice body kit...and that engine!!!!How much HP?

Im kinda purist when it comes to brands,if its a Toyota I like it with a Toyota engine,at least in my cars,in other person car its ok!

Yes,its true, but unfortunately I will keep my Starlet pretty much like this...its my daily and I dont want to spend to much money with it :/ But yeah...everyday I imagine it with a 4age 16v good suspension and brakes :x

I'm still alive...working on my new brand/company, building and designing lots of crazy stuff. Speaking of I should update my siggy. Haha.

www.mint-design.ca - Lots of content and lots of stuff in my blog of what I've been working on.

The body kit is a TRD replica that was only produced by one guy in the Philippines, not sure if he still makes them anymore. The original kit is pretty much non-existant now. IIRC the motor put down 115-120hp at the wheels, which is pretty good considering the motor makes 58hp (at the crank) stock. I built up the car to compete in a particular WCMA autox class, the WCMA has now adopted the SCCA ruleset (has been for quite few years now) so with the mods I have been tossed into a class that I'd just be better off swapping the engine. Haha. You can find out more about the car here: http://aceengineering.ca/1982_Starlet.asp

I used to build KP6X-4AG motor mounts, they even got knocked off by a company in California. No sour grapes though as I've got much bigger projects and things on the go, the motor mounts are just too small for what I'm doing now.

I really think I need to lower it...but in the other side I "need" some comfort because it's my and my wifes daily :/
