Wondering if you guys can help me figure out where this goes? I've looked all over and through the wiring diagrams and can't find shit.

And I can't find the headlight relay connector. I believe after reading some diagrams there should be a wire from open space in the corner of the gray connector right next to it that should run to the relay?

HOW THE FUCK DO YOU GET THIS SOB IN? Everytime I put it in the rubber liner gets pulled under the plastic one, or it won't seat up, or the catch won't seat in. I've spent 2 hours on this little piece of shit and its almost the last thing holding me up and getting the car on the road after 3 years. It looks like the neck isn't seated right, but I've jimmed the gas tank around and restrapped it in place and nothing seems to change, it seems to sit where it sits...

What year is your car? Mine is a 92. I just went and looked under the hood. The only thing I have in the area of your green plug is the is the plug for cruise control. My mine is grey but looks a little similar. The other plug on mine, the only one that size and shape I'm seeing in that area appears to be the body side connector for the plug that has the wires for the oil pressure switch and one or two of the water temp switches that come out of the coolant housing. This may not be what you're looking at but on my car this is all I'm seeing in those areas.

On the relay wire, I'll have to check my manuals here in a little bit.

I think the green connector goes to the tivis bsv on the back side of the head. The grey one looks like the connector for the egr temp sensor. Idk on the bottom of the fuse box or the fuel filler neck.

Stock (minus the turbo and bs) 91 3SGTE and chassis. I thought the green was something around that backside with TVIS or whatnot but I looked and can't seem to find anything. It is slightly oily as if it was from around there. I'm wondering if it was just hanging free or something. I have two wires coming from the firewall that have stripped ends and connect to nothing, and I never had them connected up. Not sure if they're stock or not, I'll put up a picture.

The gray one appears to be connected, that's actually an end cap on it that jumps the one wire to the other as far as I can tell, there's no place for wires to go into it. Just seeems really really weird to extend a jumper wire out of the harness like that.

The blue connector is for either the TVIS VSV or the TVSV. What color are the wires?
The gray is for the EGR temp sensor. Only cars that have california emissions actually have a sensor in the EGR, the rest have a resistor plugged into the sensor to fool the ECU.
That's why it's there.

I'll try to post more info later, if I can.

*Blue is for the TVSV, the TVIS VSV plug is brown*

What are you trying to do with the headlight relay?
There is no single connector for it, several of the connectors in the fusebox have wires that run to it.

And I'm not sure what the problem is with the filler neck?
When I took mine apart to clean out the dirt underneath I had no problem getting it all back together.

Got the filter neck together. Took off the splash guard so I could man handle the neck a little more and got it slid in with no problems.

That definitely explains the gray connector thanks.

Green connector has black with yellow stripe, and blue with red stripe on it. Car is running and idling like shit and hard to keep alive. The connector shows its getting 12 volts at idle. I checked my TVIS and had all my connectors in. I'll check again. Thanks for the help, I'm hoping I can get to the bottom of this soon and move on. I really don't wanna get crazy with trouble shooting my idle problems when it could be this simple connector.

As for the headlights, my low beams don't work. High beams and everything else works fine. Changed the relay out but no success. No weird clicking noises or anything like that. They will pop up and down normally, just not come on. On the bottom of my fuse box I have nothing to plug into the single slot in the corner, and I also have no wire in the corner of that connector. I'm assuming whatever wire was there ran in between the two? If someone could grab a picture of the bottom of their fuse box with the cover removed that'd be awesome.

Doesn't appear to be related to those mystery wires I referred to earlier, they've been hanging loose since I got the car and it used to run with no problems, think they might be after market alarm or some bs.

Most of the VSVs have 12 with the engine on, then the ECU grounds them as it needs them.

If your high beams are working the relay is fine.
The high/low beams work off the ground, not the power.
Either the bulbs are both burned out or the switch is bad. Or you have bad wiring.

I just checked and it gets ~12V with just
the key on. I searched again for another hour and didnt find anything. I've looked through the wiring diagrams and found nothing with those wiring connectors. I don't know what else to do

I'm sorry, I didn't explain that right.
They get 12V with the key on [B/Y is 12V from the EFI relay; B/O is 12V from the key on].
It's your TVSV, just like I told you.
You don't need it.

Your idle problem is probably something simple like a vacuum leak or the EGR not sealing or the ISC valve sticking.

I felt around and think I located the TVSV on the backside, but have a real hard time feeling it and getting and angle to look on it. I'm gonna pull the d/s wheel and see if I can get a look at it to see where the connector goes. The more I thought about it the more I came to the same conclusion as you, that sadly, it will not be the end all to my idle problems lol. Thanks for all your help!

Connector is the turbo VSV. Its on the back driver's side of the block. Right next to the blue canister. I can't explain how hard it was to find and see, let alone put that connector in. 3 hours with two people, the front right wheel removed for primary access, and my helper using a long thin pry bar to help from above its in. I think I mighta fractured my arm from contorting it around to get up there. It was bad. But its on, and it didn't make a difference. Turns out my ECU pins for injector 1 & 2 had pulled out, so I was running on two cylinders

If anyone ever needs help getting to that connector, PM I guess. If its 10 years later and I don't exist on this board, in the BGB around FI-67/87 something like that they have a picture of all the VSV valves and stuff, and then there's a page of the turbo VSV with a picture of it. Good luck.

Still no idea what goes out from below the headlight relay on the fuse box. Anyone with a stock fusebox willing to go out and snap a picture of the bottom of theirs? :)

Nothing comes out of that spot.
In fact, only 1 of those wires is even for the headlight relay. The white wire provides 12V to the coil and switch.
And I already told you, the relay is NOT your problem, it's something else in the circuit.
I thought you had a wiring diagram?

Changed the headlights, it was the bulbs. I'm still curious about that open spot, especially the single connector, as I believe its in the connector diagram at the rear of the wiring diagrams. From what I read in the actual wire diagrams, it appears that it doesn't go very far. I understand the relay has 4 prongs. I'm concerned about my open spot for a connector that has a blade in it, as well as that open spot in the gray connector that also has a blade, which is why I jumped them. Not sure if its needed or not, I got my headlights working and didn't wanna mess with them.

Neither of those has a wire going to it.
And you need to be careful what you jump, because IIRC one of those has 12V from the EFI relay.
