I get a call today from the girl. We've been looking for a car for her the oast couple of weeks. Here's the conversation:

Her: So I've decided that I want to get a 96-99 Celica convertible.

Me: Really?

Her: Yeah, they're hardy little cars.

Me: I can definitely help you find one!

Her: I really like how they look too. Plus we can drive to the beach with the top down.

Me: I know some people who can help...

So, who wants to help find MORE Celicas that we can add around here instead of Moostangs?

I'm looking for a 6th Gen autofail Convertible within a few hours drive of Los Angeles. If anyone knows of something great locally for a good price, I'm considering a trip to get it.

Trying to keep it under $3k. Looking for the right car.

I haven't bought enough Celicas, what's one more?

She should really go for a 5spd. You didn't just call it autofail for no reason. Might as well just move on to self-driving cars if it's automatic :hehe:

She wants a 5spd, but not for crawling in LA traffic while in heels.

I taught her how to drive a stick.

Then tell her not to wear heels when driving

There is an entire segment on the Jason Ellis Show entitled, "Women. Am I right???"

After hearing the shenanigans that women pull, I'd say this qualifies her as nowhere near as crazy as she could be.

You still don't want a 5 speed in heavy traffic. After crawling for two hours in traffic so bad that I couldn't let the clutch more than halfway out made my leg feel like it was going to fall off.

Just because she says you taught her doesn't really mean it was you that taught her to drive a stick...

To be fair she learned a manual gearbox on a Suzuki RM-Z450.
