View Full Version : 1977 Celica GT 20 R engine : starter bolt removal??

Trying to remove the top side starter mounting bolt , size 14mm , I believe.
What is the trick ?
I cannot budge it with a box wrench from the top side.
I cannot access it with a ratchet from above , nor below. The starter seems to get in the way of the ratchet extension . No room .

Finally got hex nut off size 14mm with box end wrench plus
a 3 foot extension sleeve over the wrench for torque / leverage.

PB Blaster = goooood

There is a better formula that you can make yourself, but it is HIGHLY flammable, so we just won't worry about that. :D
Really though, buy yourself a can of PB Blaster to keep around the garage. It is pretty important especially when working with older vehicles. Remember to let it soak in for at least a few hours before proceeding to work whenever possible.
