If your car doesn't have system 10 it doesn't have an amp. If you have system 10 the amp is under the passenger seat.

Honestly at this point these amps are 25 years old, and even if they still work (mine died long ago) they wont much longer. IMHO you're better off just getting something aftermarket

oh ok thanks for the info..so the car only relies on the stereo for its sound? will i need an amp because i got myself some rear tweeters?

I would almost bet you that wiring is back there for tweeters. However, I only know where it was on a GT coupe, not a lift back. That said, you could just tap in to the regular speaker positive and negative wiring. It's my understanding that is how the front tweeters are wired. Also, you don't really need an amp to drive tweeters, they aren't exactly a power hungry speaker...

Also, only reason to use a System 10 amp is if you a factory System 10 car, a working amp and a 92/93 (no wiring harness for 90/91 except in the UK for about $40USD or more shipped). I bought a whole slew of stuff to replace my somehow still stock speakers in my 91 GTS. Part selection here (http://www.celicatech.com/forums/showthread.php?57303-Red-Rider&p=30220442&viewfull=1#post30220442). Granted, it's not installed yet due to work :/

Does your car currently have System 10?

Liftback GT also has the wiring in place for the rear tweeters. Far as I know they're set up to run off of the rear speakers, just as the front tweeters run off of the front speakers. Easy enough to test whether the wires are already powered.

Ok then it's wired as if you only have 4, the tweeters should be tapped off of the main speakers.
