View Full Version : aluminum crossmember bushings

Anyone using/have used the set from speed-source.net? Mine are stock bushings from 93, and they look and feel ragged(worn out/dryrotted).

Or should I see what OE replacements cost/availability are?

Also picked up the Kirk poly mount inserts.

I used them. Launching on 255 race tires with these and poly motor mounts = cracked core support.

I seem to recall this posting from when it occurred.

So would this be a recommendation against them?

Not really a recommendation against them, just a warning.

Roger Joey, still happen to have that picture around? Do you honestly think it was this combo that did it? Or was the there previous damage to front end that could have added to the stress put on core support?

I don't have complete Poly mounts only the inserts from kirkasuarus.

I think price and availability of OE mounts vs. ss mounts +shippping is going to be the biggest decision.g factor in the long run.

No, the picture is gone.

The damage was purely from stress. Like I said, 255 racing slicks, prosolo launches, aluminum crossmember bushings and the poly mounts didn't do the core support any good. However, it did last through a couple of years of this abuse, as well as being daily driven. I would assume that, for most people, they'd be fine.

Thanks Joey.

been beating mine to death for 6 years now. poly mounts and alu subframe bushings. never an issue.

you run pro solos?

I run both the sub-frame bushings and full poly mounts front and back, the side mounts are stock. A-lot more vibration with these, if you don't like rattles get the stock ones. Other than that, they are great.
