View Full Version : I Found Christine

I saw her at the Pull-A-Part a couple days ago. I instantly recognized her by her matte black AR wheels, damaged fender and 6th Gen Folding mirrors. 12k miles were put on her since I sold her 3 years ago. Looks like a blown head gasket, and cheap oil changes. The last owner killed her and abandoned her, the paint chipping off of both bumpers.

I didn't know what to do, as by law, I can't save her from her fate. It was nice seeing my first car again. I want to see if they can let me know the day she gets crushed.

I guess Christine doesn't live anymore.

That's what I was thinking about. If I take her brain, will her soul live on?

Get another red Celica, break in at night and swap the cars, flip the vins over and no one will ever know.

I can get behind that.

I have a piece of my old racecar on a keychain.

Thanks Hook. I may do just that.

It was a simple goofy thing. I removed the rub rail on the door. On the old Camaros it was five or six pieces, endcaps, track, rail, etc...

Several years after I sold the car I was out at my brother's house, where I had removed the rail, and was smoking a cigarette, just kicking the dirt. I kicked up one of the end rails. Just a little thing, the size of the end of your pinky finger. It had a hole in it for the rivet to hold it to the body. I ran it through my keychain and still have it to this day.

I agree with stripping what you can and reusing it, that way in some small way it lives on. I did the same thing with my AT when I left Italy and had to leave it there, anything I had the tools to remove I pulled. I still have the keychain sets for my old cars, never changed them.

You can't rescue a salvage title vehicle where you live?
or will the scrap yard not sell you the complete car?

Either way I feel your pain every time i drive by the farmers field I dumped the Supra in when she wasn't safe to 1/4 mile anymore ..... :(

So take a few pieces off, then come back and get the rest of it...?

It's because pap yards do not have a dealers license like junk yards do witch sucks because I'd buy a few of the shells at the pap yards to build....
I feel your pain but I feel like mines a bit worse I work in a junk yard where my 2000 BMW is sitting and I took the bumper off it last week and cut the shit out of my hand....
I still have my vin plate off my 86 BMW also

If I found my first car in the same manner, I'd toss around the idea of opening up a crushing business for a day... Lol

Anyone interested in a clean set of grey System 10 door panels?

Maybe once I get my AT project rolling, I think mine are a little rough. Ain't got the time or money right now for it though.

Pics? I currently have JDM panels that are a little rough, but am planning on cutting my existing GT door cards and just attaching the speaker portion. If they are GTS cloth panels I may be interested for the right price.

They are grey cloth door panels. I'm pulling them today. PM me your zip and I'll figure out shipping.

The only real damage is the crease in the passenger door. No tears anywhere on the panels. The crease is from the backing board being cracked, which means it can easily be repaired from behind.

Okay. I pulled my wheel hub assembly off of a red celica with similar wheels. Didn't know if she was living on through my car or not...
