WHY?

Because Straight Intake :)

Still in the finalizing process but it works for now.
Turned up the boost to 12 psi.... and wow I am pretty impressed with how hard this car pulls. Not quite my STi but I am happy :naughty:

How stock is your engine and how did you adjust the boost? Sorry for the stupid question but I got a stock JDM ST185 that runs the variable boost and would love to get a little more than what it gives me without having to add anything on to it. On my Supra I had installed a boost controller that I could just turn up or down but I dont have anything like that (that I can see) on the Celica.

Dirtiest cone intake filter I've seen on here yet!

Which Yellow Top is that?

Mbc is laying in there under the fuse box. I need to get a longer hose so I can mount it on the fender.

Motor is stock with rebuilt head. Arp head studs. Egr delete. Straight intake. 3" tbe.

Definitely a dirty filter :) haha. It will be cleaned this week.
It's an optima, ill check the model when I get home today.

Wouldn't go much higher than 12 psi on the stock TMIC. Lookin good! If you don't got one yet, at least throw on a 3" downpipe and eventually a 3" turbo back exhaust and that will really wake her up.

Yeah I have a 3" turbo back exhaust.

I plan on a fmic pretty soon, I just don't have the time to fabricate one.

Battery: optima yellow top 8014-045

Are you saying to not run more boost because the tmic can't hold that much pressure or what?

Stock TMIC is not super efficient and very prone to heatsoak. With that being said, I ran my stock JDM engine on the TMIC for a few years with the boost adjusted to 13 psi without any problem, including the first summer here in south Texas. I've since changed over to a 205 WTA and insulated the bottom. No problem with this set up. I've also got the 3" downpipe and exhaust. Upping the boost from 8 to 13 made a lot of difference.

I figured it wasn't very efficient. I don't race my car and I hardly ever even boost. Even when I do I barely ever hit full spool.

Turning up the boost was a big difference!!!
