my name's Adam, i'm 18 and my first vehicle was a fixed up (rebuilt engine, new paint job, improved interior) 1978 Dodge D100. We just sold it and now i drive my beloved 1993 Celica GT 2.2 automatic. i think the only thing that would make me love this car any more would be to have it a 5 speed, but i dont have the time or money to replace it. I think the only thing i can say right now is my brakes squeak really bad but i've checked all the pads and they still have a while left before they are supposed to squeak. my only thought is that maybe its because my rotors are rusted pretty bad. as far as i know, the rotors are stock, and it has 215,000 miles on it. i'm thinking about running them down and replacing everything at once instead of just getting pads. any suggestions or tips? thanks guys.

Hi Adam, welcome :)

Your squeaking is probably from the rotors, but cheap brake pads will squeak sometimes too, even on good rotors.
As for you keeping the rotors, it depends how good the car stops. If it stops fine, yeah, wait til the pads are no good. But if it doesn't stop good, I'd replace everything now. Cheaper and easier to replace brakes than the front of the car. :)
