There is probly a write up on this but I'am hopeing for a quick answer.

On my 88 gen 1 all-trac, where do I and how do I check for codes? And how do I reset the ECU?

To reset the ECU, disconnect the power and/or ground from the battery. Let it sit for a while occasionally either pressing the brake pedal or trying to turn on/off the headlights.

The diag terminal is in the engine bay in the corner by the driver against the firewall. There should be a cap on it that labels the terminals.

There's no need to press the brake or mess with the headlights, all you need to do is pull the ECU fuse for 30 sec instead of disconnecting the battery. That way you don't lose radio presets or your clock.

Seems simple enough if I knew where the ECU fuse was?

Either in the drivers kick panel or in the engine bay.

I want to say drivers kick panel
