well as some of you know i have an XM Commander unit which im using an RCA to 1/8th headphone jack which is what the eclipse units AUX input is.

well it seems that the xm unit is putting out way too high of an output which is causing distortion

is there a inline volume controll that i can get that will let me adjust the output of the xm?

My xm unit has a setting in the menu that allows you to adjust the output.

Menu---> Line Out Level---> Adjust.

If not hook up this in-line:

RCA level attenuator
Use to reduce the pre-amp RCA level for matching differing input / output of components. Has female RCA inputs and male RCA outputs with separate left and right gain adjustment.

thanks jay.

it seems that the output adjustment on the unit it self only works with the fm modulator tho

Now that is some wacky shiat. You can access the xm unit's line level out while using an fm mod, but not when using aux in. That is a call for xm tech support than. That's funky. :ghey:
