So I started a Celica build many years ago after the car failed an insurance inspection. I should have just fixed what needed to be fixed and driven it, but I decided a full on build would be better. Problem was I got an MR2 as a daily driver. I slowly lost interest in a front wheel drive project and spent less and less time on it. Since then I have moved twice resulting in the loosing the garage. After I moved in with my girlfriend I parked it in the back yard and left it there for two years under a cover. Recently we bought a house, so without the money or space for three cars (the MR2 has been retired from daily driver duty) I decided to give it up. The shell was hauled away by the salvage people last night.

She was a 1987 GT-S.

The work I had completed:
-trunk lock relocated to behind a flip down license plate
-side markers and trim shaved
-door handles shaved (solenoids and poppers in place)
-spoiler moulded to car (not complete on drivers side)
-areoform body kit installed and halfway moulded
-floor pan patched in several areas (why it failed inspection, undercoating had been sprayed onto the underside of the carpet)
-rear fenders patched (very poorly, by me)

I feel sad that I let it go, but I realize that it was time. There simply wasn't any foreseeable way for me to finish it now. I did learn a lot on it. I did make a lot of mistakes.

Here are some pictures:

And now to get over it, I'm going camping to cook meat over fire and drink beer.

Cheers,

Poor car :(

The pics aren't working for me but I'm wondering why you didn't just sell it vs scrapping it?
