I'm about ready to do a 5spd swap in my 89 and I was wondering about a few things. First of all, according to what I've read somewhere between 5/1989 to 6/1989 they changed the bolt pattern from 6 to 8 bolt. I'm wondering if I PM you my VIN # you could possibly look that up for me?

Also I need the following part numbers and if they are available for my 89 celica gt:

Pressure plate bolts
Flywheel bolts
Clutch fluid hard line from master cylinder to transmission.

And if the part #'s are the same for the bolts for the transmission between the manual and the auto for the transmission to the block.

Thanks a bunch!

I have PMs turned off, but you can certainly email me the VIN, or just post the last eight digits here. That's enough for me to determine build date. Or you can just look at the build date on your door tag. The same bolt is used for six bolt and eight bolt cranks. Hardware is sold individually so you'll need to specify quantity on each bolt when you order. Both hard lines are discontinued. You can find new or easily bend your own. Any decent "real" parts store (NAPA, CarQuest, etc) stocks various lengths already fitted with the appropriate metric fittings and flared ends. Grab a cheap handheld tubing bender while you're there, and you are home free.

No problem. Your car was built in July 1989 and should have an eight bolt crankshaft.
