View Full Version : Propeller shaft support bearings (aka carrier bearings) need replacing on st165. How hard is it??

The title pretty much sums it up. Just wondering, besides the bearings what parts do I need, tools, etc.? Skills?? And as usual, thanks for any help you can give!

Not that I've ever replaced the bearings, but as far as removing the propeller shaft, its not that bad really, especially compared to most other things on the car. Its been about 2 years but if I remember right just unbolt it at the rear diff, unbolt the center supports, and it should slide back and out from the transmission. Exhaust might be in the way, I'm not sure, I was doing a total tear down so I don't remember the order I removed them in. Wear some safety glasses....
