View Full Version : Demz's Not-a-Project Project: 1991 Celica GT "Eva"

This is kind of long overdue, but I got all my shit done, and found myself 2 free hours of nothing to do:

So here is my interesting scenario. I had a whole back story planned out, but I figure no one wants to here my sob story. Basically, a few months back I was put in a situation where I was car-less and life was not slowing down for me to catch up. I needed a cheap and reliable car that could be winter driven. And preferably something I for-the-love-of-god would not want to mod. I looked around for a while, spotted a deal, and hitched a ride 3 hours out of town to check it out. Enter this little guy:

Picked her up for $1500 with 138k on the clock. Came with brand new brake pads/rotors/drums all around, new spark plugs, plug wires, distributor, radiator, radiator fan, tires, and headlights. And I'm talking about new like <30 miles on this stuff.

Guy was selling it because it was seriously lacking power and overheating. I took a quick look at it, paid the guy and went home. Once home, I timed the ignition (was 18 BTDC) and plugged the fan in (yeah, seriously), and no issues since.

In other news: the insurance company finally decided to pay me for the loss of my S10 two months later. Seen here with the Celica's tail light fixed.

Finally, life was nice. Got my work truck replaced, got a good DD car, and no way in hell am I modding a 5th gen. Suddenly:

FUCK. I started mod'ing it. (4 wheel disk conversion, test fitted with j/y Camry parts)

Some more stuff on its way for Eva, but that's all I have for pictures for now. I will update more in the spring when it gets taken off the road. There is more on the way, I promise.

Big thanks going out to Chris and Stacy for getting me some parts to fix her up and for future mods.

Yeah, I have a problem.

Buahahaha! No mods? Everyone says that...

No wait, never-mind.

02-29-2012, 09:00 PM
Wtf happened!?!?!?

And who was in the car, you or Jeff?

02-29-2012, 09:03 PM
Only Jeff. Apparently his job working with tires had him interested in the tires of the semi next to him, so he went in for a closer look...

02-29-2012, 09:27 PM
So the accident is his fault? What did he do, blow a red and get t-boned?

02-29-2012, 09:30 PM
Drifted cross the lane on a highway, I guess.

02-29-2012, 09:33 PM
Oh noes. Did you have full coverage on her?

02-29-2012, 09:46 PM
Well, I told him I wasn't paying for him to drive it so I didn't have anything. But, I also told him he had to insure it to drive it, so.... probably not?

btw this same sig thing is REALLY fucking with my head. lol.

02-29-2012, 09:53 PM
Well that was dumb.

Don't worry, once I get started working on the st165, I'll take new pictures in the next few months and change my sig pic.

Soooooo wide body conversion?

02-29-2012, 11:43 PM
Damn.... what are you going to do now?

03-01-2012, 12:52 AM
oh damn! new fender, door, rear glass (looks like its not there?)... good to go?!

Damn.... what are you going to do now?
Well considering it was my spare car, it will sit until he can get it fixed, I guess. He thinks he is going to drop it off at my dad's house, and he will just do all the work butfuckthatshitson.

oh damn! new fender, door, rear glass (looks like its not there?)... good to go?!
Rear quarter and rocker panel need to be cut out and a new ones welded in since the panel was dented and rocker split open. Passenger side window is gouged and the A-pillar is smashed in too.

Shit'll buff out.

Make Bang do it.

By Hand.

Parts are coming in, they need some work, but they will suffice.

Started working on the fender.
fender ready for paint.
fender painted.
started work on the door.
door ready for paint.
door painted.

Looks kinda rough, but still 100x times better, and the coat of paint will keep them from rusting. Also: one half wide body time!

Quick picture of one side being wide body, the other side factory. Not really all that noticeable.
