Do they make a conversion kit for that bumper. bumper cover, crash bar, bolts?
Where could I get one from?

They can all be had new from your local toyota dealer, or a online dealership like lithia toyota (a sponsor). There are part numbers posted EVERYWHERE, just look

How cost effective is that vs. talking to an importer though?

temperacerguy
02-16-2012, 03:12 AM
depends on the quality of the importer parts... I have had bad luck with importer body panels

do you have a good one that sells quality parts?

I have a new crash bar for a RC bumper for sale if youre looking for one

The ones that I've seen from a lot of the importers have been in the neighborhood, or more, than what the new ones are from the dealer. It looks like they think they are gold plated. I'd check the dealer first.

What you just typed makes no sense... but all the part numbers for the RC parts are on this site... it's a sticky in the All Trac section.

Everything is in this post, which is stickied and at the top of the All Trac subforum.

I went and talked to a dealership today. 1,912$ for both hood and bumper. A lot..... But less than I was thinking.

Let me know if anyone wants a price breakdown for any of it.

Another option are the fiberglass bumper and hood from GT4 Racing in Poland, but shipping would probably suck.

At that price I'd almost say try to find a front clip in good condition, for the same price. Then sell the motor/trans etc and keep the body panels you want.

My car came with the cs bumper just hanging, nothing supporting it. And of course the corner lights dont fit perfect but I can live with that. I finally found a crash bar here I think in the parts for sale/wanted. I had to go buy some bolts and nuts at Mills Feet Farm but it slid right in. Fit just fine. Ive never asked the local Toy dealer about aftermarket stuff so cant speak to that.

when i tryed to order the crash bar at the dealership here in Houston, the dealership in California from where the bar was coming wouldnt release it even after i paid for it. how ever the dealership did return my money w/o charging a restocking fee.

Thought about a CF hood? the ones VIS makes are pretty good but the faux strip at the front isnt replaceable on them, the Seibon ones are shit even though you can put the CF strip on them they are the wrong shape. I painted mine and retained the CF strip at the front. Its a bit different from stock, but I think it looks ok... (picture makes it look a bit wonky...)

Search around on the bumper, I found one local and picked it up with a bunch of other stuff for $400. I paid $800 on the hood, and then had the whole car painted in one go for $1000. I figure not a bad price considering all the stuff I got :)

Did you have to find the taller windshield sprayers?
Or will the cf version let you use the stock sprayers? I didn't want a cf hood because I didn't wanna use hood pins. What is your plan on that?

CF still requires the taller sprayers, I bet you can get them from a dealer, check the sticky thread for mods in the 5th gen forum. RHDJapan.com also used to carry them, however, I'm not sure if they still do.

Someone found some off a minivan or something that were taller and pretty close in appearance to the RC/CS ones.
