hey guys, when its time to replace the clutch do the pressure plate and clutch disc both get replaced or just the disc?

disk and pressure plate. Sold in kits. Also do the throwout bearing and pilot bearing. usually a good idea to replace the flywheel or have it surfaced at a machine shop also

Thanks :) . I have a fidanza flywheel so ill just get the replacement insert. I don't need to replace my clutch now, i just wanted to know if i could just buy the clutch disc just as a spare.

toyota transaxles = no pilot bearing.

Not to thread jack, but thats something I've noticed on a few transaxles now. Why would you not want a pilot bearing. I would think the input shaft bearing would get worn out pretty quick, but they dont seem to.

Yeah, Im not sure why they dont use a Pilot bearing, but maybe they just figure one more piece to wear out. I dunno.

I did a clutch on an 84 Celica Supra and it had a pilot bearing, but it is FR layout.

Shorter input shaft, less wobble.
