Im really thinking about doing it. I've built engines, axles, one manual trans, but never an auto. The book is saying I need lots of special tools. If you have any experiance inside of auto trannys, scan this book real quick and see if I really need them. Its a F4A42-1 tranny. http://www.mitsubishiclub.cz/graphics/manuals/207/F4A4x_AT_Manual.pdf

BTW problem is probably in the valve body, but I would like to remove all the disks and clean/inspect everything.

That's alot of special tools. Mostly bushings and bearing drivers.

You'll need those spring compressors to take the clutch packs apart. Not sure if you could get one compressor that can do all of them or not.

I'm not saying you can't do it you most likely can. I've done a couple and it's not rocket science. But I wouldn't want to do a Mitsubishi fwd trans for my first one. I'd probably just call a salvage yard on that one.

if, you can find a good auto trans that would possibly be better. also an aftermarket cooler would help extend the life as well
