Just making sure for my 205, if I order a clutch and flywheel for a 94 mr2 with the 3sgte it will fit the 205 motor and trans. Let's just say I had a bad drive to work involving a lot of foul smelling smoke

Yes, the clutches are the same. Just dont order a flywheel for a 165. Youre good on 185 stuff. Youre good on SW20 stuff. Its all the same stuff.

Now comes the question do I want the act clutch or the trd clutch.

Neither. The TRD clutch is a 3 puck and its very grabby and chattery.

How much money are you looking to spend on a clutch? What kind of power are you making? What are you looking to get out of your car?

Barely above stock power, I drive my car all year round, and aside from some spirited driving, i drive pretty easily. I dont mind a more moderate pedal feel but i dont want to hobble around like i was one of frankensteins monsters. At most right now i'd be looking at 350 horse, I want to do brakes and suspension first, and by the time I get around to the motor for anything major ill need a new clutch anyway.


So easy driving, long lasting, moderate pedal, and cost effective. Im sure im going to need a new flywheel as well so if I can order all three at once that would be great, ill probably get a toyota throwout bearing.

Im thinking the clutchmasters stage 2 long life kevlar disc and heavy duty pressure plate with the clutchmasters flywheel. A long life clutch sounds great for me and the reviews ive read on the kevlar disc are quite positive. Any thoughts?

I dont know that Id go with a heavy duty pressure plate. Whats your definition of "long life"?

I got about 50k of abuse out of an ACT 6 puck unsprung. It just wasnt the most driveable clutch on the planet.

50k miles is about 80k km and that sounds decent to me, but im looking at a full face clutch, I doubt I have the need for a six puck. The clutchmasters FX200 kit has the same pressure plate as their base clutch (power plus 1) and from what i have read the kevlar disc wont glaze over like an organic clutch will

Youre prolly in good hands with that clutch. Just dont abuse it. Sprung clutches in our transmissions like to grenade if they are abused.

Sounds like im going to have that problem no matter what clutch I buy, theres no way I could have an unsprung clutch in my DD
