I found this online and it looks interesting. My big question is once it cools at what temp will it melt? Does anyone have any experience with the stuff?

As long as it isn't a high temp use, don't see why not. It's likely a tin alloy used for brazing. Reason we have a hard time welding with aluminum is temperature to begin with. This probably melts around 500-600 degrees.

So probably not a good idea for a minor repair on my egr porting.

Ok so I decided how to fix my problem, I am going to use a bolt to replace the pipe plug in order to block off the egr when its smog time ill reinstall the pipe plug and temp plug up the hole with jb weld.
